Potassium levels could be falsely high because of improper sampling And you need to get Follow up USG KUB to look for the persistence of renal pelvic ectasia

Repeat the test. Sometimes spurious values possible due to cell breakdown

Hello, Potassium level of a newborn often remains high. If not symptomatic, there is nothing to worry for now. Sample might have been a squeezed one which spuriously rises potassium level in blood. For the renal pelviectasis however, I will advice you repeat an ultrasound of your child. Kindly get it done once.
