Postpartum back side bone pain
I am 7 weeks post C-section. For the past 1 week, I have pain/discomfort on the right side of my lower back near the pelvic/SI joint, mainly while walking or putting pressure on that side. I feel heaviness at night when i sleep on my back. No pain while sitting, and no numbness or tingling in the legs. Is this postpartum pelvic/SI joint pain? Will it resolve on its own, and by when ?

It is very common to experience these symptoms during the postpartum period, especially following a major surgery like a C-section. Your description aligns closely with Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Dysfunction or Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) For many women, this pain improves as core strength returns and hormones stabilize, but "waiting it out" isn't always the most efficient path.
Next Steps
Since you are 7 weeks out, you are likely cleared for light movement. I suggest the following: • Pelvic Floor & Core Rehab: Consider seeing a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. They specialize in post-C-section recovery and can help "re-sync" your core and pelvic stability. • Sleeping Positions: To relieve the "heaviness" at night, try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees to keep your hips neutrally aligned. • Avoid Single-Leg Loading: Try to keep your weight even on both feet when standing, and avoid "hitching" your hip when carrying your baby.

It is common to appear low back pain during postpartum period. Since our body had gone through so many physical changes and also when a person has undergone c section, the muscles become weak ( core muscles).
Next Steps
