My wife is delivered a baby girl on Dec 12. And last Saturday she is started menstrual cycle. Is it normal? If it is not what should I do?

Usually if post delivery,a mother lactates her child then periods are delayed owing to lactation.If not then periods should follow normally after 6-8 weeks of delivery.
