I'm jagdeesh from Tamilnadu ,age-23.working in customer support.doing exercise daily and walking atleast 1 km per day and eating vegetables and fruits a lot. . I feel heavy pain in muscles and joints of neck, leg and hand and lower back bone and feel tired and lost 5Kg automatically in a year without a intension to lose weight. I have been experiencing this from my age 18 to till now (23age). Is there any effective treatment to cure this. Is there any chance that I have pois (post orgasmic illness syndrome). How can I confirm that I am affected with this syndrome and what are the common symptoms that patients say to you. I'll be thankful to you, doctor if you answer this question 🙂.

Hello Jagdeesh, thank you for sharing such a detailed history. I’m also from Tamilnadu. It must be very frustrating to be dealing with these symptoms for five years, and I appreciate you doing your own research. I will answer your questions directly:
POIS Symptoms: Yes, Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome (POIS) is a recognized, though rare, condition. The symptoms patients report are exactly what you've mentioned: a cluster of flu-like symptoms including fatigue, muscle pain, weakness, and sometimes cognitive fog, which typically appear soon after ejaculation and can last for several days.
Confirmation: POIS is a "diagnosis of exclusion." This means there is no single test for it. A doctor can only make this diagnosis after ruling out all other possible causes for your symptoms. Your symptoms—chronic fatigue, muscle/joint pain, and especially unintentional 5kg weight loss—are not specific only to POIS. They can be caused by many other, much more common, conditions.
Before concluding it is POIS, a proper investigation is essential to rule out:
Nutritional Deficiencies (like Vitamin D and B12), Thyroid dysfunction, Anemia, Other inflammatory or rheumatological conditions
Next Steps
To find the real cause, we need to start with a detailed consultation to discuss your 5-year history, diet, and work posture (customer support jobs can also contribute to neck/back pain). Following this, I would recommend a basic set of blood tests to investigate your fatigue and weight loss.
