It is a condition where rectus abdominis muscle get separated during pregnancy. The white thin line between both the muscles called lines Alba gets thinned out and pulls apart as abdomen gets stretched out.As lines Alba is highly elastic it usually retracts and gets back to normal after delivery. In some cases it loses its elasticity and gap between rectus abdominis remains known as post delivery diastasis.core strengthening exercises may help and if it’s severe can be repaired surgically either by laparoscopically or open surgical method
