Post covid fever
My daughter got covid positive on 23 April 2021. But her fever is not settling down. In morning her temperature is normal in the range of 98. But by evening her temperature goes to 99.6 to 100. I have done all her inflammatory markers tested like crp, ferritin, ldh, il6, ddimer, cbc. They came normal twice. Her typhoid test came negative. She has developed corona antibodies in IgG test. What would be the reason for fever post covid. Please advice.

Hi... Dont panic..it may be normal.. Kindly specify about duration of fever...fever continuing for 2 months is very long and yoir child may need evaluation for long standing fevers... If fever subsided then and again now she is getting fever means it may be normal viral fever... Look for danger signs like high grade fever >102, fever with chills and rigors, red eyes, body rash, vomitings or loose stools

Since you have already done all the markers to rule out MIS-C (a post covid complication seen in children), which are normal, I suggest you go to a Pediatrician and get her detailed examination done. She might need evaluation for Tuberculosis and other causes of longstanding fever. You haven't mentioned the duration of the fever. Whether she is having a fever since she got covid or she has developed a new fever, that could also suggest something. Also, which thermometer are you using to record temperature? Does she has other symptoms also? Take detailed consultation.
