This can happen due to small anal fissure/cut, irritation, or mild piles. Advice: Avoid hard stool/straining. Drink more water, take fiber/fruits. Use warm sitz bath 10–15 min after stool. Don’t rub hard while washing; gently pat dry. Apply simple soothing ointment/barrier cream locally. If bleeding, swelling, severe pain, pus, fever, or symptoms continue more than 5–7 days, get examined.

A poking or stinging sensation in the anal area while washing after a bowel movement, followed by a brief burning sensation that then settles on its own, is a classic symptom of an anal fissure — a small superficial tear in the lining of the anal canal. This is very commonly caused by passing hard stools or straining during defecation. Drinking adequate water, eating a high-fiber diet to keep stools soft, and avoiding straining can help the fissure heal and prevent further episodes.
Next Steps
Please consult a physician for an examination to confirm and get appropriate treatment. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
