My father is getting treated for "Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura" (very low platelets count approx 2000). He is under frequent checkups and when the count goes this much low direct injection of platelets in units and with some steroid tablets like (wysolone and danogen) were given. Though the count does not comes to the normal condition. So our doctor suggested for RITUXIMAB to be started. I googled about the injection and i am little worried about the side effects of the injection.

Hello there.
I can understand your concern.
You have to make up your mind.
You want Google to treat your illness or a qualified person to treat you.
Every symptom is somehow linked to cancer according to Google. Cannot treat everyone for cancer based on what you find on Google.
Is there a value of a Doctor's words and his experience?
If there is, then you should go ahead.
Best regards.
Dr. Anil Kumar Jain.
Bangalore.
