Two hormones in the female body-estrogen and progesterone- in the correct balance result in regular monthly periods. Im pcos, this balance is disturbed - estrogen is more and progesterone very less. Thus, we must give progesterone from outside (by pill) to create balance again. Different doses of both hormones or only progesterone are required to give regular periods and maintain health of pcos patients. Consult me directly for further details.
