Periods after c section delivery
I have got my c section delivery on 25.11.2025 &am  having a baby boy. The postpartum bleeding lasted for 60 days till 25.01.2025 though bleeding was negligible during the last days. However my period got started on 18.02.2025 even though baby is exclusively on breastfeeding & lasted for nine days. Both day and night times on every two to three hours I do feed my baby as my milk supply is sufficient for the infant. But my period is very very heavy because of which I am getting weak.Is it normal to get the period so early while on breastfeeding or needs to be treated. Need urgent guidance.

Some women do get normal periods while lactation is adequate. Plz check your Haemoglobin. Take Iron as well as Calcium supplements And importantly, plan birth control.

Bleeding following delivery should not last more than 45 days You can get your periods while you are exclusively breast feeding but the bleeding should not last  more than 7 days Get your hemoglobin levels checked Get an ultrasound done to find out the reason for this prolonged bleeding

It can happen to some women..If you change a pad within 2 hrs then get a gyne consult and do an ultrasound. Otherwise keep your Hb levels in normal range.

You can get period even if you are breastfeeding. If the bleeding is heavy then get ultrasound scan done.
