Periodical tests for diabetic patients
My wife (55) is a chronic patient of diabetes & BP.Her rent FBS is 103 and PP is 185.Every now and then she wants me to take herlipid Profile, urine micral & R/M,Hb, Creatinin,USG,ECG.Besides Blood sugar and BP.I have procured a Accu-Check and Dr.Morpen to check her her blood sugar and BP almost everyday.I think it's her mania or she is fear stricken to see a nephro patient next door. I know some tests are taken periodically. But I do not know their periodicity.Would you please let me Know! Is Brown bread is good for diabetic patient? ThanQ.

There is no format and all tests are done based on clinical judgement of the doctor. But , more or less,  lipid profile , creatinine, urine micral, sgpt, eye examination, ecg are done once in a year if all is well. Hba1c is done 3 monthly. Fbs, plbs frequency depends on the sugar control. I would not recommend brown bread.
