You have a 2 years old baby who is breasfed. Your periods will remain irregular for a very long time. You will always have apprehensions that you may be pregnant. So best thing is that you exclude pregnancy by any method and get a Copper T fitted. It is a very good contraceptive. No follow up required. It doesn't interfere with breastfeeding. And you will not have to remember your date of periods.
