Young girls have irregular cycles with heavy and prolonged flow because of anovulation which most often responds only to Hormonal treatment. Do not wait for heavy and prolonged periods to settle on its own as it may lead her to becoming severely anaemic. Seek Help if period doesn't stop in 5 days
