Period and birth controll

Asked for Female, 36 Years

I’ve been taking birth control for 2 months .last month I bleed for 18 days. This month it’s 21. The last 3 days I’ve stoped for 12 hours and started right back. I’m only taking the active and not reminder pills in hopes it stops my period. Is this normal? What should I do?

Hello, Thanks for your query on Practo "As" per your clinical history is concerned it is abnormal so please stop birth control pills and do a detailed clinical examination by your treating Doctor [Gyn] and do an ultrasound scan. Discuss with your Doctor about regular iron supplements and prescription medication like [Tranexamic acid (Lysteda)] to control blood flow. Hope that helps
