Tea and coffee do not directly cause ulcers, but they can:
• Increase acid production
• Irritate stomach lining
• Worsen IBS symptoms
If your ulcer has healed and you are on treatment, 1 small cup/day is usually fine if it does not trigger pain.
Avoid:
• Empty stomach coffee
• Excess caffeine
• Very strong tea/coffee
If you get burning pain, acidity, or bloating after taking it, better to limit or stop.
Based on your symptoms, this may require proper clinical assessment and prescription. You may book an online consultation with me for detailed evaluation and personalised treatment plan.
