Thank you for asking. You must not compare masturbation to sex, they both are very different events. While masturbation, one is not under pressure of performing, is in control of self for stimulation and not dependent on partner for obtaining stimulation, one very often has access/use pornography for getting excited, these all things make masturbation as easy process. While sex things are different. For good erections, one must be very confident and relaxed. Especially, during initial sexual encounters, one is very anxious and apprehensive, which is normal. Anxiety often causes problem in erection and getting arousal. Can you expect to have a exciting sex, a night before your major exams? No! Because, you are tense and anxious and occupied with exams stress. Sex cannot be possible then. Why do people go for honeymoon? So that they are relaxed, and hence sex can be good. What you are having is anxiety, which is preventing you from getting erect. With suitable instructions you can learn to stay calm and relax. If required, there is role of medication as well. However, more details are needed to be able to give you specific suggestions.
