Asked for Female, 28 Years

Iv been having pelvic pain more on my right side for the last 3 days been to see my gp today and was told it was ovarian pains and to take ibuprofen if it doesn't subside in 48hrs to go to a&e, what can this be as surely it doesn't just start hurting?
