The normal temp rature for infant or your baby must be 98 .f.
But your baby temperature is 99 .4 .
This is abnormal temp.
She is having fever or some other infection in the body.
Health Tips
consult me online for further query and complaint with full history and report for diagnosis and treatment for complete cure and relief.
Can you specify where and how you took this temperature? Did you use digital or infrared thermometer? And as a mother myself I have to ask why you checked for temperature in first place. Was she feeling warm to touch?
Next Steps
If you are taking temperature digitally in underarm etc.. only when temperature is 100degree or more will you require crocin. Higher body temperature is a protective mechanism of immune system so do not worry
Health Tips
If she gets any accompanying symptoms like running nose, drowsiness, refusing to take feeds, lethargy etc or temperature is higher than 100.. visit your paediatrician
The normal temperature of human body is 98.6°F, but it varies.
We consider the rise in body temperature as fever if it crosses the mark of 99.4°F when taken orally and 100.4°F when taken rectally. Rectal checking of temperature is done in infants.
And fever is always considered a good sign which shows that the immune system is functioning well.
Infants under 3 months should be taken to doctor if they have fever above 100.5°F.
Next Steps
As long as child is active and playful, feeding well, urinating proper, passing stools normally, don't panic.
Feed well and maintain proper hygiene.
Health Tips
Consider going to doctor, if child gets dull and drowsy with fever.
