My 15 month old son was born with vsd.size is 8~9 mm. All doctors I have consulted have advised to go for hole closure procedure.but some doctors are saying device closure is best option but others are saying after seeing hole position device closure will not be effective.i am very confused and not able to decide.

There are 2 things:
1) Child definitely needs surgery, preferably before 2years of age, as this VSD is not going to close. The surgery will be curative one, rather palliative, as it will reduce the Pulmonary Artery Pressure to Normal.
2) It's not suitable for device. Surgery is far more safer than putting a device. Don't worry, consult a CTVS Surgeon & go for Surgery.

Best option is surgical closure of VSD. Position of VSD is critical in deciding the management. This position with inefficient aortic rim, cannot undergo device closure. Furthermore device can be risky. Please get the child operated asap else the blood flow to lungs will further deteriorate the condition.
Next Steps
plan for surgery
Health Tips
keep a close watch for lung infections, children with these kind of heart defects are more prone for pneumonia.
