Good morning doctor.. i'm having bilateral pcos trying to concieve.. doctor says to come on 3rd day of period will give MMR vaccine in the part of pre pregnancy preparation after that we will precribe oral contraceptive pills,, and my weight is 57kgs doctor says to me reduce the weight... how many kgs i hv to reduce to concive? Is MMR vaccine is needed for pregnancy preparation?

Only weight is not enough to guide ...
we need to know what is your height and what are the the values of blood test which you have done ....
oral contraceptive pills are given to down regulate for few cycles and after that ovarian stimulation can be started...
but whether or not you really need it I cannot just comment because it is not the normal process in each and every patient

Pcos needs to be resolved first by diet , exercise and ocp,start with folic acid ,refer to your vaccination chart to be sure of MMR vaccine .

Yes , in PCOS lifestyle modification & weight reduction with daily exercises, brisk walk for 30 min & avoiding high calorie food helps a lot in the management..’Weight reduction of even 5% will increase the chance of ovulation ( release of eggs) by 20%..
MMR vaccine can be given though its not essential.,
What we actually advice is to test for Rubella IgG & if the test is negative than to take Rubella vaccine .
To be noted that once you take a Rubella vaccine you have to avoid pregnancy for 3 months.
