Dear ,dont worry ,
First important thing ,.whenever u consult any doctor u have all rights to ask your doubt so no need to worry u can ask your treating doctor .
Basically whichever doctor suggest course is advised after some special thought behind it , so better u continue the treatment for that scheduled duration , no interruption no second opinion on that treatment, if u have any doubt get clear by treating doctor it wl be right thing for u.

Kindly follow the treatment as directed by your treating doctor and don't alter the course. These following steps may help regularizing you periods:
- Avoid fatty, oily, fried and junk food
- Exercise regularly (minimum 30 mins)
- Destress yourself with practices such as yoga/meditation
- Maintain a healthy body, diet and weight as per your BMI
- Have vegetable juices
- Include corn, beets, lettuce, drumsticks, and pumpkin seeds in your daily diet
- Avoid smoking and alcohol if you have the habit
