Pain occur like strain in leg

Asked for Male, 21 Years

My father got tibia operated yesterday and after some time pain occur doctor says it occur due to swelling the stitches contract or strain occur due to operation. But he is not sleeping due to pain after giving some medicines it becomes low but nut totally out. So i want to ask that it generally happens or due to some reasons .. Thank you
