Pain in left side of uterus while sex

My friend has been sexually active since the past few years. Her periods are fairly regular and she uses protection while intercourse positively. She isn't very active physically. Though she maintains a well balanced healthy diet. Recently she has begun to feel a stabbing pain in the left side of the uterus during intercourse. Should she be worried?
