Pain in left buttock due to injection

In april 2020, during my pregnancy my wife used to take hcg injections in her buttocks. some day the injection is not applied properly. The injection site is not paining always. But sometimes there is acute pain inside. There is no marking or bruising etc. Why this pain occurs.

Is there a swelling on site of injection? If yes, it will take time for induration to go. Take hot water fomentation and pain killers. If no swelling, unlikely to be due to injection .

Get a subcutaneous imaging study as its was in April I don't think so the injection should raise an issue in December.
