Pain in gum occasionally
Hi, I have this pain in the top side tooth. Its not permanent severe pain but if food gets there it pains for few seconds or if i brush and bristle gets between the tooth space then it bleeds a bit. I have it for over 2 weeks now. The pain is mostly in the gum and not severe. I did not take any painkiller. I visited a denstist and got xray. They suspect an infection and possibly a root canal is needed which they called me again to check and confirm. I doubt if this is the case where root canal is done? Attaching the xray. Can you please guide on the possibilities before I get to the next appointment? Thanks.

Hello The area which you are saying impacts food needs to be assessed. Not necessarily a root canal case. Bone loss is due to food impaction and probably if you clean that area yourself with a sharp thing.
Next Steps
avoid using sharp thing to clean that area. visit the Periodontist/dentist.this area will be cleaned and teeth height will be adjusted if required.
Health Tips
After this evaluation is to be done further,if symptoms like sensitivity and pain on the tooth persist,go for root canal.else do not.
