According to your history it might be groin strain,It is very common in athletes. Did  you  feel any  "pop" at the time of injury? Or did u  notice any swelling within first 2 to 3 hrs? You can check yourself by gently moving your leg away from your body asking someone to to resist against his or her hand as he or she tries to gently push your leg outward (muscle strength test  ) Gently  feeling parts of the muscle to determine the specific location of the injury (palpation) For final diagnosis  you can go for a X ray ,or MRI and it is better to consult a Orthopedic doctor.
Next Steps
Avoid unnecessary walking,or walk with a crutch or stick when req.followed by ice compress 15 -20 mins every 2 hourly.and take medication as directed by the doctor.Your Physiotherapist will also design a individualized treatment plan to reduce pain, improve strength and promote a safe return to the activities.
Health Tips
Always warm up before starting a sport or heavy physical activity. Follow a consistent strength and flexibility exercise program to maintain good physical conditioning, even in a sport's off-season. Strengthen the muscles of the inner thigh and groin. Wear shoes that are in good condition and fit well.
