Pain all over the body
I am 45 years old. I've been told I'm overweight, which I'm very well aware of, but I need other solutions to my problems. I work 12-14 hours a day which has a huge impact on my lifestyle. It is not possible for me to manage time for weight loss, and I go through intense amounts of stress. The back of my head hurts very frequently. If I open my mouth, my left ear hurts. My shoulders, back, waist, joints, everything hurts. 2-3 years ago I broke my left hand, now it hurts a lot. It's more swelling than the right hand. I'm unable to move my hands properly. My legs get really swollen, which I'm told, is because of long hours of sitting, and have been asked to use a tool, but it's not possible for me to do that always considering my lifestyle. I feel breathless quite frequently and my mind goes numb and confusing, as my daughter has noticed. I'm not sure who I should consult for my problems anymore because I only ever get one solution, losing weight, which is not possible for me. Pls help.

You have multiple concerning symptoms — widespread body pain, leg swelling, breathlessness, frequent headaches, ear pain on jaw opening, and cognitive fogginess — all of which need proper evaluation rather than lifestyle advice alone. Given your age, work stress, and the combination of these symptoms, underlying conditions like hypertension, thyroid issues, vitamin deficiencies, joint disease, or even cardiac causes need to be ruled out urgently.
Next Steps
Please get a blood pressure check done immediately. Also get blood tests including CBC, blood sugar (fasting), thyroid (TSH), kidney function, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, and uric acid. An ECG would also be important given your breathlessness. Please do not delay — consult a doctor in person soon. Feel free to consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.

Your symptoms are affecting multiple body systems and should not be attributed to weight alone. Evaluation for thyroid disorders, vitamin deficiencies, arthritis, sleep apnea, anemia, and cardiovascular causes may be needed.
Next Steps
Feel free to book a consultation so we can discuss the complete treatment plan in detail.

The pain behind the head and ear pain while opening the mouth may be related to cervical muscle spasm, TM joint disorder, or nerve-related pain. The swelling in legs and breathlessness require evaluation for heart, kidney, thyroid, circulation, and metabolic problems. Hand swelling and joint pains may suggest arthritis or inflammatory disease. Mental confusion and numbness also need assessment and should not be ignored. Stress, prolonged sitting, lack of sleep, and long working hours are likely worsening your condition.
Next Steps
The following tests may be needed: * CBC, ESR, CRP * Blood sugar (FBS/HbA1c) * Thyroid profile (TSH, T3, T4) * Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 * Kidney and liver function tests * Lipid profile * Rheumatoid factor / ANA if indicated * ECG and possibly 2D Echo * X-ray cervical spine / hand if required

Your symptoms are not likely due to weight alone. Multiple joint pains, hand swelling, breathlessness, and episodes of confusion need proper medical evaluation and should not be ignored.
Next Steps
Please consult a General Physician for a detailed assessment and basic investigations. Conditions like thyroid problems, vitamin deficiencies, arthritis, anemia, or other medical issues may need to be ruled out. If breathlessness, confusion, or swelling are increasing, seek medical attention sooner. If you wish, you may also book a consultation through the platform for personalized medical advice.
