Paediatrician advice required
Hi, i am 32year old HIV mother. My son is going to turn and has been on NEVIRAPINE for 6 weeks as advised by the doctor. After then doctor advised us to give him Bactrim Suspention 5 ml for 18 months. He test reports have come not detected so far. For last two days he has been under the weather for which we too him for a check up. Doctor gave some medicine and he was fine till today morning. Since morning he has got lose motions and was taken to the doctor again. This time the doctor gave different set of medicines and asked us to give Bactrim Suspension twice a day 5ml each time for 5 days . I wanted to understand the reason behind increasing the dose of bactrim. Is it related to HIV OR it is just to fight the temporary infection he has. I am really worried. As I was at work I did not go to the doctor, and my parents went they missed checking the reason. Request if someone can please clear this doubt
