My ortho dentist told me that I have protrusion type misaligned teeth. Now my treatment for tmj is going on with splint therapy and orthodontic. Is splint helpful for my protruding type misaligned teeth? If yes then why do always I feel awkward for my bite and splint? Can wearing splint for long time damage or do more harm of my tmj problem? Please give all the answers of my questions...please help.

Hello Sir!
I am glad you have gone with splint and orthodontic correction for your malaligned teeth with TMJ problem. It's one of the treatments that would really help you.
As to answering your questions, then Yes, Splint with orthodontic correction is in your best interest. Please be patient Sir, I understand how awkward and difficult it might be for you but trust me you get used to it. Initially, it would take time to get used to it but as time passes you will be more comfortable. Split is one of the ways to correct TMJ issues, it will not cause more harm or any permanent damage. Just bear with the treatment and be patient. It will work out in the end!
Hope my advice helps to relieve your stress.
Regards,
