Overdose of Maxra drops

Asked for Male, 1 Years

My 18 months son was having cold and cough. Doctor suggested to give Maxtra syrup 2.5 ml. But by mistake I gave Maxtra drops 2.5 ml. twice in a day for 2 days. Day 1 he was drowsy and was not walking properly but second day not so much effect but his appetite in milk decreased, through he is eating other thing well. I am worried. 1. Does the overdose have any other side effects on liver, brain, lungs or eyes or any other part? 2. How long does the effect of overdose remain? 3. Any test needed?

No,relax,other than drowsiness,no other major side effects will result from just 4 doses,but be careful next time. Overdose of medicine is one of the commonest cause of fatality and morbidity in patients,so clarify with your doctor in case of the slightest doubt!!
