OSMF in mouth
I have OSMF due to tobacco chewing habit as detected by an oral surgeon. My age is 29 and My intrinsical distance is 28 mm. While trying to open mouth I feel severe pain near the jaw joint area of my right side of mouth. I have already taken steroid along with hyaluronidase injection intrallesionally and antioxidants therapy along with physiotherapy for the last 6 weeks. But there is no satisfactory result.i am still facing pain. Kindly suggest which treatment I need to follow. What is my OSMF grade? Will I feel pain for the rest of my life.kindly help.

OSF advance treatment is now a days is surgical... ie  surgically removal of fibrous band,, now a days use of hyaluronidase inj .is no of use

Hi there , You have grade 1 Osmf . You are following the correct treatment for your stage . Due to the bands In your mouth you might experience difficulty and stiffness on opening your mouth. Continue your treatment and you will experience relief soon.

OSMF does not typically cause pain , so while you may have OSMF the pain is caused by something else. Get your teeth checked on that side and also the problem may be in the joint?
