Opinion on hep b positive result
My sister delivered this sep and around that time her husband had hematuria..One of his relative suggested him to do hbsag and it came positive..So now my family is very much worried...my sister was negative just a day before her delivery..so my question is can some one be hbsag positive and not spread it to his partner if she has been vaccinated in the past??and do her hus need to take vaccine even if he has taken in the past??he doesn't have any symptoms though..is there something called non viral hepatitis if yes then does that spread and does that need to be treated ??

If he has tested positive for hbsag ,the next step is to get a complete hepatitis b viral marker test and liver function tests. It is possible that though he tested positive ,he is in an inactive stage.

Needs to be evaluated and viral load has to be done. You have to get liver function tests done. And scan of abdomen. If viral load is less , need not worry.
