On Sporidex since 3 months
My son is 8 months old and he had UTI 3 months back. He had severe fever and infection level was also high. Though he got fine in 3-4 days with zifi his pediatric suggested to consult a nephrologist as well. His ultrasound and Dmsa are all fine but he has kept him on sporidex from last 3 months. Is it ok to have that medication for such a long time? Or we shall go for any other test? He is absolutely fine now?

Hello, good to connect with you today Yes, sporidex syrup is given as prophylaxis following urinary tract infection in infants. And it is advised to continue antibiotic prohylaxis till a test called MCU is done and it’s normal Please follow up with pediatric nephrologist and make sure MCU test is done and normal before stopping sporidex
