Novelon and RPOC
I had a medical abortion through pills on 27th dec 2024. Took miso and mife on that day and bled for straight 5-6 days, passing clots and tissues. On scan, my gynaec told me that there still remains a smaller tissue inside and for that we can just repeat mife again. But again after having tab, i did not bleed at all. Two weeks after this, we again had a scan, and still a very small part of tissue remained inside. I also had HCG test and value was 5.4 To this my gynaec had put two options in front of us- either go for D&C or still wait for a week for natural periods which could let that tissue to pass. Since this was our first pregnancy, we were skeptical about D&C, so I still waited for another week with no periods. Later we reconnected with our doc, and she prescribed me 21 days on novelon. I have been taking the tab daily. Will this cause my periods to occur? She has also prescribed me doxycycline for last week in order to avoid infection. Just wanted to know if this will work.

You will have periods after Novelon. It is good to take Doxycycline  at least for two weeks. It will prevent infection. If infection occurs then it becomes difficult to be pregnant another time.
