Hi! I’m a 19 year old female and have not had a period in3 years. When I first got a period I was 10 yrs & they were very heavy, extremely painful and miserable. My mother took me to GP at 12 yrs and my GP prrescribes depo-provera to stop my very painful & bleeding menses. I stopped taking depo provera injection 03/01/2015. I got one very, very light spotting episode on 04/07/2016. It was gone within hours & I haven’t had a period since. Please advise.

Hi, during the depo provera shots.. the ovaries are .. like resting.. and it takes sometime for it to resume back to normal function.. And for the uterus lining to grow... However after your last shot u should have got back your periods in a year... Hence, I suggest u to please visit a gynaecologist personally and get yourself evaluated.

First find out the reason because depo provera does not cause amenorrhea for long time.Get done all hormones level FSH,LH EGN,TSH and PGN .Also get done ultrasonography to know the status of ovaries.
