Newborn-No poop for 3 days
Hi, my son is about 20 days now. He is born preterm at 36 weeks weighing 2400 gms. He is in general active and takes breastfeed normally. But for last 3 days, he did not poop. I consulted my doctor and she suggested spoonfull of boiled water with some glucose powder added to it to be given to baby before trying any medicines. Should I try this? Is it normal for baby not to poop for 3-4 days as earlier he was doing it once or twice everyday. Kindly suggest

Its normal and some babies wont poop for up to 5 days also... if baby is fine nothing to worry. No need to give water... just continue breast feeding and wait for 2 more days...
Next Steps
If abdominal distention or vomiting or any other problem meet your pediatrician
