Neck and back pain
Hi Doctor, My brother-in-law has been experiencing severe neck and back pain for the past 15 days. He recently tested HLA-B27 positive and is now unable to lift his hand also due to the pain. Could this be related to the HLA-B27 result? What should be the next steps for diagnosis and treatment?

It's possible. He will need an in person evaluation with a rheumatologist to confirm if the pain is related to his hla bw27 positive status and what is to be done about it . Ideally we would do an MRI of SI joint , CRP along with a clinical examination to plan further management
