It is natural. You can trim it, but make sure you cut the area where there is no blood supply. Usually, in white or transparent nails, you can see the bood supply as pink in color. So you can cut only the white part and leave the pink one or else it will bleed very badly. But in nails which are black color, you need to use the light to see the blood supply. If it is possible, you can go for trimming with a professional groomer and learn it how to do it, then you can do it in yourself.
