My sons Tongue tie issue

My son is 5.6 years. The skin under his tongue is connected to the tongue rite at the tip. He has difficulty pronouncing words and breaks a lot when he speaks. Though I have been encouraging him a lot to try, he is able to pronounce almost if he does it slow. He is a bit shy when it comes to speaking, I just assumed he was shy but now after a research on tongue tie I feel may be it's because he might be feeling weird he is not talking much and so he has turned out shy. Please suggest what is the best advice that I shud go ahead with?
