Care AI Shimmer
Worm infestation is a possibility. When he passes stools, kindly observe his stools for any thread like worms. You may see them around anus too sometimes. This itching is severe during the night. You may give your kid Syp Albendazole (200mg/5ml), Give him 5ml tonight with food. If symptoms do not subside, give 5ml after 2 weeks.
Next Steps
Adults in the house also should take medication as spread is common amongst family members. Take tablet Albendazole 400 mg tonight.
Health Tips
Despite the itching, encourage your child not to scratch their bottom. If they must scratch, make sure it is over their underpants and not directly on their skin. Keep your child’s fingernails clean and trimmed. Have your child wash their hands and under their nails before eating food with their hands. Wash your child’s bedding, towels and toys in hot water. Mop your floor often to remove any eggs.  Clean surfaces in your house that your children may touch, in particular door handles. Discourage your child from eating food that has fallen on the floor. Adults also observe proper hand washing before eating food and after using toilet.
