Medicine does not always help with gall stones. If left untreated can cause serious complication like pancreatitis in few cases. Surgery(lap cholecystectomy) is the gold standard treatment for it.

Symptomatic gallstones with this size ,needs to be treated surgically, medicines alone are unlikely to dissolve the stones

Gallstones can cause severe stomach pain and once they become symptomatic, treatment depends on the type of stone and symptoms. In most cases: • Medicines cannot dissolve gallstones effectively, especially common cholesterol or mixed stones • Medicines work only for very small, specific cholesterol stones, take many months, and stones often come back When surgery is advised: • Repeated or severe pain attacks • Emergency admission due to pain • Risk of infection or blockage For patients who have already had acute pain requiring emergency care, surgery (gallbladder removal) is usually the definitive and safest option. Diet control alone does not remove stones but may reduce pain temporarily. Final decision depends on: • Stone size and number • Frequency of pain • Ultrasound findings For proper evaluation and surgical vs non-surgical planning, please contact me directly on Practo. Because gallstones are seen in lots of people over the age of 35-40, you have to be very certain that the abdominal pains are caused by gallstones and not something else. Worth asking the team and considering another option if you are not sure. All the best. J G S R clinic

If size of stone is large enough and symptoms are there then surgery is best to avoid the complications.

Delaying surgery in symptomatic gallstones can lead to serious complications. Medications are not a reliable long-term solution in most cases. So last and definitive treatment is surgery .if you don't want surgery now , or extend please consult me for further management and guidance.
