My mouth is getting super dry at night
Hi Doctor, I'm suffering from dry mouth particularly night times and I cant sleep at all. My sugar levels are within limits i.e Im non diabetic and along with dry mouth my foot and hand plam are also dry. Im applying coconut oil to my foot before sleep, but within no time they were becoming dry. During day time i usually drinks 3-4 litres of water, eventhough i'm suffering a very high dryness in mouth at night. Can't sleep. Pls do help me.

It can be due to 1)Dehydration (especially at night) Even if you drink enough water in the daytime, fluid intake drops at night Sleeping in an air-conditioned or dry room worsens it 2) Mouth breathing during sleep Very common cause of severe night-time dryness Happens due to:Nasal blockage,Snoring ,Stress or anxiety this leads to white tongue coating and bad breath in the morning 3) Stress & anxiety Stress reduces saliva flow Night-time dryness + poor sleep is common in anxious individuals 4) Vitamin & mineral deficiencies Especially:Vitamin B12 ,Iron,Vitamin D Can also cause dry skin, cracked lips, burning mouth 5)Medications:Antihistamines,Painkillers,Antidepressants,BP or allergy medicines 6) Hormonal or medical causes :Thyroid imbalance, Autoimmune conditions (rare, but if dryness is severe and long-standing),Acid reflux (GERD)
