Firstly, relax. All children have lesser immunity as compared to adults, which builds up slowly by these repeated minor infections. This will go on till roughly 8 years of age, after which, rate of infection goes down drastically,as immunity has built up due to these minor infections. As you have yourself observed,NOT giving junk food or ice-cream does NOT make any difference in rate of infection,DO let them enjoy junk food, but restricted!!
Next Steps
Relax, expect the kids to fall sick with minor ailments, give them a healthy balanced diet(let them binge once in a while on junk food,as long as its clean, after all, they are kids!!)
