Do not worry!
In some girls with prolonged absence of periods (> 3 months), especially in girls with PCOS and obesity, the endometrium (the lining that sheds during periods) can become thick and can have changes called hyperplasia which can lead to cancer if not treated. To avoid missing this change an endometrial biopsy is recommended.
A pipelle biopsy can be done in OPD as a simple procedure with mild pain.
