Greetings
fever of 102°F combined with mucus in the stool in a 4-month-old infant is a red flag that requires immediate medical evaluation by a pediatrician. This is likely happening because the baby has contracted a gastrointestinal infection, such as viral or bacterial gastroenteritis, which causes gut inflammation and fever. The previous formula changes and current probiotic drops are not the cause of this sudden high fever, and you should not alter his feed without a doctor's guidance.ensure your baby does not develop severe dehydration from the fluid loss and fever.Watch closely for critical warning signs like extreme lethargy, persistent vomiting, crying without tears, or having fewer than four wet diapers in a day.
Urgently take to Pediatrician physically because it's high fever 102F and with mucous in stools definitely needs to get evaluated by Pediatrician by physically
Mucus in stool in small amounts can occur after a recent stomach infection or due to formula intolerance/allergy, but high fever (102°F) in a 4-month-old baby needs proper examination by a pediatrician and should not be ignored.
Continue feeding well and monitor urine output/activity. Do not keep changing formulas repeatedly without medical advice. The current fever may be due to a viral or bacterial infection and may not necessarily be related to the formula itself.
Please get the baby examined physically today, especially if there is poor feeding, vomiting, lethargy, breathing difficulty, blood in stool, decreased urine, or persistent fever. Stool test and further evaluation may be needed depending on examination findings.
