My 6 month baby's body got blue. Take.

Hi Mam.What is the time between OPV drops and baby becoming blue? Did any other vaccine given at the same time? Did the baby ever become blue at home? Also what was the injection given to treat this baby blue color?  These are some of the questions which arise based on what you say. It is extremely rare for the baby to become blue after OPV.  This may be due to allergy to the medicine. Or sometimes baby may become blue if they cry too much and they become normal in few seconds when crying subsides and baby breathes normally.  Next time it is better to avoid OPV if baby has really become blue after the OPV (we must be sure nothing else was given at the same time to conclude that OPV was the cause ) . We also need to rule out if the baby is having any heart disease which was undetected (rare scenario) . Kindly see a nearby Pediatrician.
