Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Well upper back pain could arise from dysfunction to any of structures example arthropathy leading to muscle spasm, faulty mechanics,tight neural tissue ,referred pain,soft tissues etc. It is important to get an evaluation done to understand the source of pain in order to plan a treatment regime.

Meanwhile avoid lifting weights,sitting and sleeping posture to be maintained,apply ice packs,gentle neck,arm and back mobility exercises post application of ice packs.
