CT report shows the results of hypoxia at early age.most pictures are clear,it all depends on the symptom other than little large head,to go for mri.If no clinical symptoms u can keep child under observation for more time and any worsening probably can plan for mri brain.

How is the development of the child? Was there any problem at birth? Any other complaints ? MRI is suggestive of effect of low oxygen on the brain mostly around birth. The whole picture has to be taken into consideration. Just sending the report does not help a doctor much

The scan is suggestive of HIE which corresponds to a lack of oxygen reaching the brain during, before or at any point immediately after birth. The cause of increasing head circumference can be explained by this however we need to look for other finding to plan further treatment. Kindly consult in person as clinical findings are more important than the report to establish a diagnosis and further prognosticate.

MRI does show some old brain changes suggestive of previous oxygen-related injury, but it does not mention a brain tumor or severe pressure buildup. The main thing now is to assess the child’s growth and developmental milestones clinically. Pediatric neurologist follow-up is advised.

Greetings. childs MRI shows mild cerebral atrophy and specific signaling changes (T2/FLAIR hyperintensities) around the ventricles. The radiologist notes these findings are consistent with the chronic effects of Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), which is a brain injury caused by a lack of oxygen or blood flow around the time of birth . While HIE is the primary consideration, other possibilities for these structural patterns include periventricular leukomalacia or underlying congenital and metabolic conditions. Management typically focuses on supportive therapies rather than curing the structural changes themselves. Key interventions generally involve early physical therapy to help with motor development, speech and occupational therapy for feeding or developmental milestones, and regular check-ups with a pediatric neurologist to monitor progress.
