Mouth breathing when awake
My 10-month-old baby breathes through his mouth when he’s awake and playing, but during sleep, he closes his mouth and breathes through his nose. He was sick a 5-6 times in the last 2 months, but for the past 10 days, he’s fine — no cold, cough, or fever. Should I be worried about mouth breathing during awake?

Add nasal saline drops 3 times a day and see if it solves your problem. Mostly nasal block is there. If not you can visit for physical examination.

Mouth breathing can be due to nasal congestion. Try nasal saline drops two to three times a day. If the child is repeatedly having issues you can consider putting a humidifier in the room to avoid exposure to dry air causing excessive mucus production.
