More baby weight
Hi Doctor, I am 26 years old and 38 week pregnant. In today scan we found out that baby weight is 3.6kg. I am weekly checking my sugar lever in home using glucometer. Always result came within the range. Never came high. But why still baby weight is increasing and afi also increased and now it is 18cm. And my cervix is also full closed. Does this means normal delivery not possible. And if baby is born with more weight does this affect baby health in future days?

Even 4 kg baby delivers normally,,, normal delivery depends upon so many other parameters. But pls don’t get obsessed for normal delivery,, it should be safe and smooth whether normal or LSCS

Normal delivery decision is multifactorial. Only baby weight can't decide! Normal delivery for 4.5 kg is also possible and It's not possible for a 1.5 kg baby too! So Weight itself doesn't decide the mode of delivery. Cervix at this stage is usually closed! Baby with higher Weight doesn't affect much in future days! Only the demand of glucose is high which needs to be monitored frequently in first few days! So don't worry
Next Steps
look for ABDOMINAL pain/bleeding PV leaking PV decreased fetal movement
